Keeping Hallie Dressed.

If you try to dress a Hallie, you'll probably start out with a shirt, pants, and socks.  She'll put up with this routine until the day she discovers she has arms just like Mommy, and can take her pants off all by herself.  Then she will start a nightly routine of running around the house approximately thirty minutes before bedtime pant-less.  This we call "No Pants Hallie."  Once she discovers how fun it is to be without pants for a few minutes every day, she will occasionally test the limits.  One day she woke up and decided that she would take off her shoes and pants each time Mommy put them back on.  So finally, her eight months pregnant Mommy decided to let her win this round.  Until her poor little toes almost got lost to frostbite because she somehow also manages to get them wet all the time.  So Mommy insisted on socks at least.  But how do you keep a little girl in socks if she won't even leave pants on?  Well, of course, when you put on socks you then follow it with putting on shoes.

Daddy thought maybe if she wore her fun pumpkin socks she'd leave them on. No such luck.  She did however leave them on after we put on her fancy church shoes.  Clearly, she needs to carry her purse when wearing this outfit, even around the house. Just in case.

So this worked for a while, then I guess she thought she was cold on top.  So she found her coat, and put it on.  And we spent the rest of the day like this.

Hey, at least she matches.

    I love it. It is so tricky teaching children the natural consequences of their actions. Don't let society get in the way. At that age Christina wanted to wear frilly church dresses every day. We let her as long as she wore pants underneath to keep warm. We got strange looks, but who cares? There are so many important things parents have to say "no" to, that clothes don't seem to matter much, at least at this age.

    actually, i love it! i mean...it makes sense. if you are cold, you put on a coat. who needs pants. they just get in the way. and she is cute, so she can get away with it.

    If I had legs like that, I wouldn't want to wear pants either!!!!!!!! :) Seriously, I can see how it would be frustrating to have her take her pants off, but she does look cute still. I say let her win at home and just force the pants when you leave the house. :) Since she likes her coat, maybe you should see if she would like snow pants . . . :)

    You're doing better than I am. Mia refuses to wear socks at home and fights the rest of her clothes. So, most days she runs around in her diaper, hence the reason we have to keep the house at 70. I do insist on at least pjs for naptime and bed.

    I'm right in the fight with you, seems Kaitlyn has "Christina-itis". She has to wear sundresses or a ballet costume. We've gone to the grocery in a turtle neck and jeans with a leotard and tutu over it. As well as jumped in the fall leaves with a turtle neck and sundress with jeans on. When we're in the house, I just let her do her thing, figure when she gets cold, she'll grab a blankie. Now if there was an easy fix for Karlee and her thumb!!! When she was colicky I was glad she found it again (like she did in utero) but now it's a big orthodontic nightmare! Maybe she'll get a chapped thumb like Andrew did. But if you or anyone else has advice PLEASE I'm begging!

Come Take a Tour

This is the longest post of all time, but that's because of all the pictures. So I know I shouldn't let myself get carried away since we still have the inspection to go, but... I feel like we've won half the battle, so I will show you pictures now. This backyard is one of the  main reasons I wanted this house.  It is on a corner lot, and it is really quite large.  It extends just as far off to the left.  Here you can sort of see the nice swingset we've inherited also, which Hallie will love as it has swings and a slide. This is the playhouse in the backyard.  It's about nine square feet inside, and has electrical set up and in the spring/summer you can tell it is landscaped.  My girls will be a little spoiled. This is the first thing you see when you walk in the house, aside from the stairs which you can barely see in the left corner.  It is a formal dining, but we may use it as a formal sitting room. Well, That Was Unexpected

I think it all really started on Monday afternoon.  My mother and I were talking about movies that we would like to see in the movie theater.  When my mom learned that my girls had not seen Frozen yet, she decided that was something we needed to do.  I looked up show times, and saw that Tuesdays are $5 movie days with free popcorn and the theater is right by my midwife's office.  The only showing we could go to was just after my appointment with her, and everything seemed to be falling into place just perfectly. We had a plan.  We were so excited about our movie date with the girls. But things don't always go according to plan, do they? Hanna got sick that night, and spent all day Tuesday asleep on the couch.  It seemed that our perfect plan was not going to happen.
