Sleeping

We get told over and over again as new parents not to put babies to sleep on their stomachs. The nurses tell us, the doctors tell us, all the books and magazines we read tell us, and if your hospital was like mine, you had to watch a movie about it before you could take the baby home. (There was also a movie on how to put the car seat in the car, how to know when the baby needs to eat, and how to change a diaper. You had to watch all of them and sign off on them before they'd let you go home with your baby.) I've even seen commercials about it on t.v. Commercials that are much more like short horror movies, actually. So, ok, it's not that big of a deal, just put her on her back. Got it. Well, that only works for so long, and then no matter how you put them down they sleep the way they want to.
Case in point: this is not the way I put her down in her crib.

  1. I wonder if my hospital will have videos I have to watch and sign off before I'm allowed to leave. She looks so cute in her crib. Sigh. One of the only things I miss from not being pregnant is getting to sleep on my stomach. I tried last week, but it was rather painful. :( Jeff's reaction is always worth it though. He thinks I'm squishing Jill. Yeah right. She's cushioned. I'm the one in pain.

  2. Well, I guess this is her first act of rebellion! ;)

  3. I clicked on it to view the big picture, because I wanted to see more of her cuteness, and I noticed her precious ballerina socks! I think Jill has a pair, too. Are those from Mindee or just a coincidence?
