Biker Chic?


My mom and I gave each other makeovers today, and then we decided we had to have a photo shoot. We went out to my mom's truck and she told me to do some biker chick poses. Hallie wanted to be in some of the pictures. Here are a few for you to enjoy.

My mom said I made her look like a mix between a "desert rat" and a "silver fox" with "batwing lips". Then when she was doing my look she got confused halfway through the word "pretty" and decided to say "beautiful" and what I heard was, "You look putrid." Thanks, mom.

We had a great time. Hallie was asleep for most of it, but when she woke up she got into the action... my mom had an old foundation that was the wrong color so we let her have it and a sponge and she went to town... then we put a little lipstick on her. She looked really great. (Al, your kitty also got some makeup... but he's recovered, and looks like a nice little black kitty again.)

I just thought Hallie looked really cute in this picture with her bubble maker. She's addicted to it. She literally sounds just like that fish in Finding Nemo, "Bubbles! Bubbles! Bubbles!"

    Well, I clicked on the pictures to make them big, and you both look super. Amy, you did such a good job on Mom! She looks fantastic. And Ames, you look like two thousands levels better than putrid. ;)

    Hallie does look way cute in that last picture!

    And haha, I got a chuckle when I read that you went to pose by the truck to take biker chick pictures. Biker chicks . . . motorcycles . . . truck. Hm. It seems like you should have been taking truck chick pics or something. :)

    I loved the poses though!

    I love the pictures! I have noticed that when I go more than 3 months without seeing Hallie, I get very sad inside, thinking of her growing up without knowing Grandma Rose. . . . .she looks so cute in all her pictures, but is definitely growing up!

Come Take a Tour

This is the longest post of all time, but that's because of all the pictures. So I know I shouldn't let myself get carried away since we still have the inspection to go, but... I feel like we've won half the battle, so I will show you pictures now. This backyard is one of the  main reasons I wanted this house.  It is on a corner lot, and it is really quite large.  It extends just as far off to the left.  Here you can sort of see the nice swingset we've inherited also, which Hallie will love as it has swings and a slide. This is the playhouse in the backyard.  It's about nine square feet inside, and has electrical set up and in the spring/summer you can tell it is landscaped.  My girls will be a little spoiled. This is the first thing you see when you walk in the house, aside from the stairs which you can barely see in the left corner.  It is a formal dining, but we may use it as a formal sitting room. Well, That Was Unexpected

I think it all really started on Monday afternoon.  My mother and I were talking about movies that we would like to see in the movie theater.  When my mom learned that my girls had not seen Frozen yet, she decided that was something we needed to do.  I looked up show times, and saw that Tuesdays are $5 movie days with free popcorn and the theater is right by my midwife's office.  The only showing we could go to was just after my appointment with her, and everything seemed to be falling into place just perfectly. We had a plan.  We were so excited about our movie date with the girls. But things don't always go according to plan, do they? Hanna got sick that night, and spent all day Tuesday asleep on the couch.  It seemed that our perfect plan was not going to happen.
